Learning Resources
The following are some of the additional resources used on our campus to support student learning:
Accelerated Reader
Students in Kindergarten through 8th Grade participate in the Accelerated Reader Program at Saints Felicitas and Perpetua School. Students read books from the Accelerated Reader list, currently more than 150,000 titles, take quizzes over their book choice at one of the school computers located throughout the campus. Grades and assessments vary per grade level and rewards are given each Trimester and yearly to those students that meet their goals.
Extra Help Sessions
Our Faculty provides students with a consistent time and place for extra help each week. During this time, teachers will be on hand to review concepts and answer questions. The sessions are held once a week. Parents need to make pre-arrangements with the teacher or the teacher will contact the parents when they see a student needs extra help.
IXL - Math
IXL is a personalized online learning tool. With a comprehensive K-8th grade curriculum, individual guidance, and real-time analytics, IXL meets the unique needs of each learner. IXL is aligned to the Common Core and all state standards. Faculty guide students through the IXL learning process which is used on campus and at home.
IXL Spanish
IXL Spanish lays the foundation for Spanish fluency with interactive questions, engaging audio, and real-world narratives that put a fresh spin on vocabulary and grammar skills.
Math Lab
Math Lab is available in the morning from 7:30 - 7:55 for the junior High Students (6th to to 8th). All other grades come to the lab as per class schedule. Our Math Lab Specialist, Mrs. Aida Chammas, assists students in mastering math skills in a small group setting.
Reading Lab
Reading Lab is a skills designed class to assist students in improving their reading comprehension and vocabulary. Reading Lab is available in the afternoon as per a specific schedule for grades 1 to 8. Students work in small group settings with Faculty to enhance their reading development.
Universal Access Time
Faculty support Faculty in establishing time for tiered intervention, or Universal Access Time. During this time, students receive consistent and differentiated support in word study, fluency, and comprehension on a one-on-one basis or in small groups.
