Learning Resources and Support
The Learning Center operates on school days during school hours following a schedule that is set at the beginning of the school year. The Learning Center provides an effective educational intervention program on our school site. The Learning Center Director works with the classroom teachers to identify the needs of the students. The Learning Center Director and the teacher plan strategies and interventions to promote academic improvement for each child who visits the Learning Center. Because the interventions are done on a small group basis, it is possible to focus on the individual needs of each student. The Learning Center may also be available to students who have been absent for long periods of time and who need to catch up. In addition, the classroom teachers may request enrichment activities from the Learning Center Director. The Learning Center Director holds tutoring sessions for homework help or preparing for exams from 7:15 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. daily.
Support Team Education Plan (STEP)
Mission Statement: In the Catholic school setting, our mission is to teach as Jesus did. The Support Team Education Plan (STEP) is a process to address the needs of the students in our schools and to facilitate participation in the Catholic school curriculum. We are called to celebrate the unique gifts of each child, which are a reflection of God’s love. “Now you together are Christ’s body; but each of you is a different part of it.” 1 Corinthians
