Fine Arts
Saints Felicitas and Perpetua School is committed to keeping the Fine Arts in our school. Many studies have shown the social and academic benefits to arts in schools. Critical Links studies point to strong evidence that arts education helps students develop cognitive and social capacities that are important to success in school, life, and work (Deasy, 2002).
We offer an extensive Fine Arts curriculum which develops the creative talents of our students. Art and Music are offered at all levels from transitional kindergarten through eighth grade.
Students learn about composers and famous artists and express themselves through song and media. Two musical performances are held each year at Christmas and in the Spring. Our Art program provides opportunities to learn drawing techniques, make pottery, build sculptures and work with oil pastels and paints. Each year we sponsor an Art Show at our school and many of our students have their work submitted at competitions beyond our school.
