Please join us in welcoming FR. JOHN COLLINS, our new Pastor, to our Parish.

Fr. John Collins

Greetings to the Parish Community of Saints Felicitas and Perpetua.  My name is Fr. John Collins and I will be your new pastor starting July 1st.  I wish to briefly introduce myself.  I was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles on June 21, 1998.  As a newly ordained my first assignment was to Our Lady of Miraculous Medal in Montebello.  My second assignment was at St. Philip the Apostle and in a few days I will be completing 14 years at St. Robert Bellarmine in Burbank.

All my immediate family live in Galway Ireland.  I was born in England and while still a child my parents decided to move back to Ireland.  I attended elementary school and high school in Galway and during my last year of high school I felt very drawn toward the priesthood.  This led me to starting seminary formation at St. Patrick’s College in Maynooth.  After 4 years of seminary training I decided it was time take some time out of formation so I could mature more and continue to discern.  That decision brought me to New York. Soon I got employed at a nice restaurant close to Wall Street.  Within a year I was the Banquet Manager and I really enjoyed the job and loved living in NY. I did this for 5 years and still felt a calling to the priesthood, so after some serious soul searching I took a leap of faith, loaded up my car and set out from the Bronx to Los Angeles.  The Archdiocese of Los Angeles accepted me as a Seminarian and I started formation at St. John’s Seminary in Camarillo in 1994 and was ordained to the priesthood on 1998.  Just a few days ago I celebrated 23 years of priesthood, incredible years of grace and blessings journeying with God’s people.  I am very honored to be assigned as your next Pastor.  It will be a new chapter on our earthly journey for all of us and I have no doubt we will continue to be blessed in abundance by our loving God.  I ask for your prayers during my transition and assure you I am praying for you.

 Your brother in Christ,

Fr. John Collins.
