Literature Final exam 6/1. Students may prepare using the study guide. Please see attached.

25 AR points due for trimester 3 on 6/1. This will be counted as a test grade.

Writing Project

Due Date: Thursday March 3, 2016

Students selected an artwork from our recent field trip to the Norton Simon Museum of Art as inspiration for a short story. Students should complete the pre writing and writing assignments in class as well as for homework. We have already begun pre-writing in class.

Items Due:

Pre-writing:

1.Printed image of the artwork ( please include the artist’s name and title of the artwork). 5pts

2.Brainstorming- list of ideas 5pts

3.Graphic Organizer 10 pts

4.Rough Draft 15 pts

5.Editing Sheet 10 pts

All PRE-WRITING ITEMS SHOULD BE STAPLED IN THE ABOVE ORDER

 

Final Draft and Illustrations

1. Edited final draft- Typed. ( size 12, times new roman, double space ) 25 pts
2. Illustrations 15 pts ( these must be hand drawn on the paper provided to you in class) 15 pts Elements of a short story:-Setting- where/when their story takes place.-Conflict- internal or external 
3. -Theme- the central message or lesson from their story.
4. -Characters- people and/or animals in their story.
5. -Plot-the sequence of events.
6. *After the above is submitted , students will be asked to identify the following in their original work .
7. FINAL DRAFT AND ILLUSTRATIONS SHOULD BE STAPLED IN THE ABOVE ORDER

Also! Many slips that were turned in were missing information. Please fill out the highlighted portion and return by Tuesday 2/16 as there is no school on Monday.

 

Students without completed permission slips will be unable to attend.
