Hello! My name is Ms. Ortega, and I will be the first grade morning teacher this year.  I have taught for many years, and I  was formally the junior high language arts teacher here at SSFP.  For the last 3 years, I have subbed and worked in the TK program, and this year I will be in first grade.  I am looking forward to working with your child.  I have a great affinity for young children and learning, especially reading and language skills.  

I attended USC where I majored in English.  I also hold a Master's Degree in Education with a focus on Language Acquisition. I am the mother of three sons, all who attended school here!  In my spare time I love to read, paint, and garden.  I really enjoy all levels of children's literature and will bring this excitement to the classroom.  I hope our classroom will be a fun and challenging place where your child will feel a sense of belonging.
