Dear Second Grade Families,
Hello! Welcome to Second Grade! My name is Melissa Perez and I am so excited to be joining you this new school year! This is my second year teaching at SSFP and I couldn’t be more excited. This year we are blessed to have Mrs. Esther Machon as an instructional aide. Your students’ academic success is a priority and I feel my education and experience will assist in the development and growth of your student’s faith, academics, and lifelong learning habits.
I have worked in the school system for 12 years as an instructional support specialist, one-on-one support in special education, and substitute teacher. Throughout my many years as a substitute teacher, 2 years have been at SSFP!
I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree at Cal Pol Pomona and continued my education at Azusa Pacific University. There, I received my Master’s Degree as well as a Multiple-Subject teaching credential.
I believe in a strong communication between family and teacher. This is necessary for a successful school year. As a parent, I understand the importance of communication and planning. Throughout the school year, I plan to be an effective communicator in all of the classroom activities and academic plans. Extra help sessions will be made available on Mondays from 3:15-4:00. For any other questions and assistance, the best way to get a hold of me is through email. Always feel free to contact me for anything. I look forward to a fun and exciting school year!
