DAYS OF ABSTINENCE This refers to abstinence from meat and binds all who are 14 years and older, health permitting. Ash Wednesday and all Fridays in Lent are days of abstinence.
DAYS OF FAST On these days we limit ourselves to one full meal. We may take two partial meals, without eating between meals. This obligation binds all between the ages of 18 and 60, health permitting. Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of universal fast and abstinence.
